This week's picture retrospective includes a magnetically-attached iPod Nano,
a royal cake and a piece of very bad driving...
1: A family in La Puente, California, were given a rude awakening- when a Lexus crashed into their swimming pool.
The driver, 40-year-old Modesto Cabral, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
2: A 13-year-old boy had to be rescued by firefighters after falling down a well in Changchun, capital of north-east China's Jilin Province.
Passers-by called police after hearing Xiao Ming's screams for help from the 10m-deep well, which had an opening just 40cm wide.
A fireman was lowered down into the well, and he eventually managed to haul the boy up.
3: Malang, a one-month-old female Javan langur is cradled by its mother Untala,
as she makes her public debut at Howletts Wild Animal Park, near Canterbury, Kent.
4: A worker helps construct a stand during preparations for the Chelsea Flower Show in London.
Tickets for the show topped £300 earlier in the week- setting you back more than a Coldplay gig would.
5: A Chinese Imperial San Xi Tang Seal, dating from the Qianlong period 1736-1795, which fetched £3.4m at auction.
6: Motorists had a lucky escape when a scrap metal lorry overturned on a bridge – pouring debris on to a busy stretch of motorway below.
The driver of the HGV was crossing a bridge over the M6 on Monday morning when he lost control and his vehicle tipped on its side.
7: Paul Farrant place the crown (made entirely of sugar) on the Diamond Jubilee cake at Worthy Down Camp near Winchester, Hampshire.
The cake weighs in at 70kg and took more than 500 hours to complete.
8: Women stand on a performer who calls himself 'The Human Floor' as he lays on a bed of broken glass at the Watch City Festival
celebrating Steampunk in Waltham, Massachusetts, US. Steampunk is a movement that explores the notion of what the world might
look like had modern technology been available at the turn of the twentieth century.
9: Tattoo artist Dave Hurban displays an iPod Nano, in New York, which he has attached to his arm through magnetic piercings in his wrist.
10: Take a bow-wow-wow: Uggie, the dog from the film "The Artist", is interviewed by Larry King in New York.
11: The Queen looks to be reserving judgement as she rides the 'Yellow DuckMarine' as it enters the waters in Liverpool's harbour
12: The world's fastest amphibious supercar - capable of reaching an incredible 180mph - has gone on sale.
Engineer Marc Witt created the unique car-boat hybrid, named the 'Sea Lion', after dreaming of building a sports car
which he could take for a cruise on the open seas.
13: A woman views 'Lightness of Being' by Chris Levine during the press preview of 'The Queen: Art and Image' exhibition
at the National Portrait Gallery, London.
14: A man dressed as Charlie Chaplin walks along the beach in Cannes during the 65th Cannes Film Festival.
15: Disregarding the waves smashing against the shoreline in Scarborough, Yorkshire, a couple walk their dogs.
