If you don't want to get sick …

Inline image 2
Talk about your feelings: Hidden and repressed emotions and feelings, will end in illnesses.
Confide: Be sincere and share your sorrow, secrets and mistakes: Be free!
People who repress their feelings suffer from gastritis, ulcers, lumbar pain, back pain, cancer.
Decision Making: The undecided remains in doubt, in anxiety, in anguish. Indecision accumulates problems, worries and aggressions. Human history is made of decisions.
In order to know how to decide, it is important to know how to renounce. To know how to lose advantages and values to win others. The undecided suffers from: Nervous diseases, gastric and skin problems.
Find Solutions: Negative people do not find solutions and they enlarge problems. They prefer to lament, to gossip, pessimism.
Better to light a match than to regret darkness. We are what we think. A negative thought generates negative energy that is transformed into illness.
Stop living out of appearance: Those who hide reality, pretend. They want to give the impression of being right, they strike a pose and want to appear perfect, good-natured … That person is accumulating tons of weight! It is a bronze statue with feet of clay. Their destiny is the pharmacy, the doctor, pain.
Accept yourself: Self rejection, low self-esteem will make us to alienate ourselves. Whoever does not accept himself is envious, jealous, wannabe, competitive, destructive. Being you is the core of a healthy life.
Trust: Those who do not trust, lack communication, become closed, isolated. That generates unstable and shallow relationships. Without trust there is no relationship or faith.
Laugh: Good humor restores health and brings a long life span. A happy person has the gift of improving the environment where he lives. Good humor prevents a visit to the doctor.

Being Undivided

Inline image 1

One of the most difficult things to put in words, is the experience of being undivided.
Nothing that we could know through the mind fits that explanation.
For that, many religions will explain their belief through contrasts between "good," and "bad," "God," and "Evil," "paradise and hell," etc.
The reason for that explanation is just to reform something, which has been "corrupted."
That is us, human beings. :-) Through a "natural" process known as "entropy."
That "corruption" happens through time. It is part of "growth." We add things to build the concept or sense of self. Those additions are like rust on a nail.
This is not "bad," it is just life and the experience of duality.
This is why, "reforming" is needed. The issue comes when we believe in the "tool" of reformation as if that was the reality of life. That world is then portrayed as a fight between the forces of "evil" against the forces of "good."
This is the childish theme of every superhero cartoon. (Superman, Dragon Ball, Wonder Woman, etc.)
This is the childish belief, which does not allow us to experience oneness and the undivided mind.
When we truly believe in this division of "good and bad," when we draw a line on life as if life was a piece of paper with rules on both sides… then we will suffer, for life is like the Ocean…never still. We cannot draw a line in it… that line can only exist in our minds.
To know and to experience our own eternity makes everything else, every belief system, useless.
Do you know why? :-)
Because there is nothing that could happen to you. You are eternal.
Nevertheless, just having the belief and mental concept of being eternal, does not do anything lasting to improve our condition, unless that concept takes away the "rust on the nail."
We need to experience the undivided mind, where concepts and beliefs are not.
This is the realm of the eternal. That is the journey, the path of the seeker.
"Good and bad, self and others, life and death: Why affirm these concepts? Why deny them? To do either is to exercise the mind, and the integral being knows that the manipulations of the mind are dreams, delusions, and shadows. Hold one idea, and another competes with it. Soon the two will be in conflict with a third, and in time your life is all chatter and contradiction. Seek instead to keep your mind undivided. Dissolve all ideas into the Tao."

Pablo Picasso-Girl Before a Mirror, c.1932

Learning Self Acceptance

Self Acceptance is an agreement with yourself to appreciate, validate, accept and support who you are right now, even those parts you'd like to change. Self Acceptance is when you look at yourself in the mirror and love and accept the person you see looking back.

For most of us this isn't as easy as it should be! Mostly because we don't feel satisfied with who we are until we've achieved or become certain things. So when, exactly, are we supposed to feel good about ourselves?

Lack of self acceptance makes us uncomfortable and inhibits our happiness, as well as our sense of well-being.

How can we accept all our warts, mistakes, failures and ugly spots? Can we experience self acceptance while working on the parts of ourselves that we'd like to change? How can we stop self rejection?

Learning self acceptance is about:

Knowing yourself and your beliefs
Knowing you are doing the best you can
Relaxing your value judgements
Examining guilt
Refusing to measure yourself to people's expectations

Gentleness

To be of real help without taking root in someone else's mind
requires great gentleness. See and understand without either willfully
interfering or creating dependence. Gentleness is not lack of strength
but a quality which doesn't disturb, doesn't push, yet knows its
own power.

Understanding the Birth Rebirth Cycle (cont.)

We subconsciously know that we are souls. Birth, life and death are just stages in existence. In fact all natural processes can be found to have a beginning, a middle, an end and a new beginning to continue the cycle. The soul takes a bodily form, gives life to it and after a period of time, long or short, leaves it and takes another suited to the continuation of its role. As long as the soul is in the body, the body grows like a plant from baby to child, youth to maturity. It then begins to decay and finally becomes unusable. The moment the soul leaves the body, the body becomes like a dead log of a tree. It immediately starts to decompose and eventually goes back to dust.

Again the soul moves into a foetus inside the womb of a mother. After time it emerges as a newborn baby and immediately begins to show the sanskars it had developed in its previous life. It is the same soul but in a new physical situation. Thus death is merely the means by which a complete change of circumstances and environment for the soul takes place. Time never kills the soul, but the body, being a part of nature or matter, obeys the law of decay that everything new becomes old and eventually finishes. The molecular components of this body disintegrate only to re-integrate as another form (body) some time later.

The process of birth-life-death-rebirth is also eternal (without a beginning or an end). It has always been going on and will continue. The soul comes into the body, expresses a role and experiences the results of that for a certain time, then leaves it, and the process starts again. Similarly, souls come into this world, remain here as actors for a number of births and then return to the region from which they come, for rest. This process also starts again. The pattern is a cyclic one. This is called the eternal world cycle.

Benefits Of Realizing The Law Of Action

Suppose a person from India goes to America for the first time and rents a car over there. He then parks his rented car on the wrong side of the road. He will be charged a fine because parking laws are different in both countries. He cannot simply say 'I didn't know, I am ignorant'. It should have been his responsibility, if driving, to find out the laws of the new country but he didn't take enough care.

In ignorance, we have done many things against the universal laws of creation – especially the Law of Karma. We did not have the complete knowledge of what are good/bad karmas, what are right/wrong karmas; what different types of effects different karmas would have on me, others and nature. But we cannot just say 'I didn't know'. It was our responsibility to know. If we look at the state of the world now, there may be a few sparks of light or spiritual enlightenment but, generally, there is a great amount of darkness. That gives us an indication of the sorts of karmas the vast majority of us have been performing, due to ignorance, to have produced the situations or circumstances in the world.

The complete knowledge of the karmic process, which we learn when we are introduced to spirituality, helps us:

• reduce the burden of the past
• remove any type of suffering or sorrow in our present life
• change our future as well as that of the world, to make it better and more positive
• experience a positive return from our spiritual efforts
understand all the why's, how's, what's and when's which surround our life

Message for the day

Humility helps us maintain good relationships with others.

Projection: When involved in something that we are doing, we naturally come into contact with a lot of people. We sometimes find that we are not able to get along with certain people. We find it very difficult to maintain a good relationship with them and finally avoid dealing with them all together.

Solution: The first thing to do is to avoid thinking that we cannot get along with someone because of their personality. When we remove this first block in our mind we will be able to see the good in all. We will no longer think that we are here to teach them but will humbly learn whatever we can from them.

Narrated Ali (Radi Allahu anhu):
Fatima (Radi Allahu anha) complained of the suffering caused to her by the hand mill. Some captives were brought to the Prophet (SalAllahu alaihi wasallam). She came to him but did not find him at home. Aisha was present there to whom she told (of her desire to have a servant). When the Prophet (SalAllahu alaihi wasallam) came, Aisha informed him about Fatima's visit. Ali added "So the Prophet (SalAllahu alaihi wasallam) came to us, while we had gone to our bed, I wanted to get up but the Prophet (SalAllahu alaihi wasallam) said, "Remain at your place." Then he sat down between us till I found the coolness of his feet on my chest. Then he said, "Shall I teach you a thing which is better than what you have asked me ? when you go to bed, say,
AllahuAkbar thirty-four times, and SubhanAllah thirty-three times, and Alhamdulillah thirty-three times for that is better for you than a servant."
Sahih Al-Bukhari 5:55

Malik bin Al-Huwairith (Radi Allahu anhu) reported:
We came to Allah's Messenger (SallAllahu alaihi wasallam) when we were all young men of nearly equal age. We stayed with him for twenty days. He was extremely kind and considerate. He perceived that we missed our families so he asked us about those we left behind, and we informed him. The he (SallAllahu alaihi wasallam) said, "Go back to your families, stay with them, teach then (about Islam) and exhort them to do good. Perform such Salat at such a time and such Salat at such a time. When the time for Salat is due, one of you should announce Adhan and oldest among you should lead Salat."
Al-Bukhari and Muslim
In the narration of Al-Bukhari, this is added wording: "and offer them as you see offering me."
As Taken from Riyad-us-Saliheen

Ibn `Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) cursed those men who ape women. He also cursed the hermaphrodite of men.Another narration is: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) cursed men who copy women and cursed women who copy men.
[Al-Bukhari].

Commentary:

Mukhannath (hermaphrodite) is a man who dresses himself like a woman and has an effeminate gait and carriage, while Mutarajjilah is a woman who dresses herself like a man and adopts a masculine style. What we learn from this Hadith is that men and women should stick to their natural qualities and characteristics and strictly avoid the imitation of the opposite sex in appearance as well as conduct. Those who violate their nature have been strongly cursed. Women who are influenced by western philosophies and thoughts and try to adopt all those professions which are special for men, fall in this category. Allah has not entrusted them with those responsibilities which are marked for men only. It is a pity that out of sheer imprudence and blind imitation of the West, Muslim women are now adopting the western lifestyle in all walks of life. Such blind imitation has led many astray and is bound to bring Allah's Wrath upon the transgressors.

The Choice is Yours

By Khalid Baig (Taken from Albalagh.net)

A recent article in the Detroit News contrasted the lives of two ordinary persons from Palestinian refuge camps in Jordan. Two persons joined by faith and circumstances, yet separated by choices of their lifestyles. One awakens at 4 a.m. every day and walks a mile to the mosque for the Fajr prayers. At that time, the other is often just getting to sleep, capping off another night of drinking and socializing at a bar that caters to tourists and wealthy Palestinians. One keeps abreast of the latest political developments in the Middle East to "ensure our future liberation from Israel." The other, "like many in his Heineken-drinking clique, is oblivious to the latest showdown between the United States and Iraq and the subsequent peace brokered by the United Nations. But … knows all the words to the latest music videos." One wears a beard. The other religiously shaves it before happy hour, "because the real hot girls like soft skin." One is concerned about moral decadence and the mortal danger it presents to "their country and their afterlife." The other asks, "Why shouldn't we enjoy ourselves? Come on, you only live once, right?"

The article titled "Partying versus Praying", is pleasantly free of the propaganda overtones characteristic of the mainstream media reports about the Muslim world. In a typical piece, the first person would have been depicted as a "fundamentalist", a fanatic, a "bad guy" who is danger to himself and to the world. The second person, would, of course, be the "good guy"--- the friendly, "civilized" person who needs encouragement and support. In contrast, here is an objective observation about the clash of two currents. Its objectivity compels those it reports about, to reflect on their situation.

In a way, the story captures the current state of the entire Ummah. For today, the Ummah is a big refuge camp: Robbed, wounded, tortured, expelled, dispossessed, and disenfranchised. And just like the refuge camp it has two powerful but exactly opposite currents: One represents awakening, turning to Allah, overcoming the base desires, and preparing for liberation from slavery, both physical and intellectual. The other represents falling asleep, turning away from Allah, and "enjoying" the slavery. This is a clash between piety and profanity, between light and darkness, between the path to Paradise and the way to Hell.

It is born of the freedom of choice that has been given to every human being. Allah has created two possible destinations for all human beings, and there are two opposite paths leading to them.

"We have shown him the two paths." [Al-Balad 90:10]

"We showed him the Way: Whether he be grateful or ungrateful." [Al-Insan 76:3]

The first path leads to success, the other to failure. "By the Soul and the proportion and order given to it, and its inspiration as to its wrong and its right. Truly he succeeds that purifies it and he fails that corrupts it." [Ash-Shams 91:7-10]

Qur'an is very emphatic that those who choose the disparate paths cannot be alike, either here or in the hereafter: "Shall We treat those who believe and do good works as those who spread corruption in the earth; shall We treat the pious as the wicked?" [Sad 38:28]

"Is he who is a believer like unto him who is an evil-liver? They are not alike." [As-Sajda 32:18]

"Is then one who does know that that which has been revealed unto you (O Muhammad), from your Lord is the Truth, like one who is blind?" [Ar-Rad 13:19]

"The Day when Man shall remember all that he strove for, and Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for him who sees. Then, for such as had transgressed all bounds, and had preferred the life of this world, the abode will be Hell-Fire; and for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord and had restrained their soul from lower desires, their abode will be the Garden." [An-Naziat 79:35-41]

It is, then, for each one of us to make up our mind regarding our destination and to check whether we are moving in its direction. Of course, the choice would not be difficult if we were only looking at the destination. No one in his right mind would choose Hell over Heaven or eternal failure over success. But the eternal success requires us to go uphill. It takes effort and patience. The journey to hell, on the other hand, is downhill. One can just slide to it. And so, weak and prone to temptations that we are, we slip. That slip alone would not be that much of a problem, because one can also recover from it through repentance. The real problem occurs when we lose all sense of direction and purpose and start thinking that our fall is our rise.

To complicate matters further, today big outside forces are also busy at work to smooth our slide and cheer us at our fall. It is a juggernaut of unbelievable proportions and unprecedented wickedness. The television and music videos, present everywhere and all the time, are part of it. The UN Social Action Program and its plans for "development" and "empowerment" are part of it. The various NGOs working for "Human rights", "Women's rights", or whatever rights, are part of it. All those propaganda pieces that praise "moderates" and demonize "fundamentalists" are part of it.

Of course none of that can do any harm to us if we are willing to cut through the haze and see things for what they are. It is Allah's promise that both paths will remain open to us. It is our choice. The young Palestinian man who walks a mile to the mosque three to five times a day has made his choice. So have thousands upon thousands of others like him in the Ummah who have decided to shun evil and follow the path of piety and righteousness. So can the millions of others who are just wandering around.

Let us remember: we cannot get to the high ground by taking the low road. We cannot win our Creator's pleasure by disobeying Him. We cannot enter Paradise by being ambivalent about it. The clash between the two lifestyles here is actually the clash between two afterlives. And the choice is ours.

The QURAN
"Never will you attain to righteousness unless you spend for the cause of God out of what you cherish; and whatever you spend is known to God."

Allaah loves modesty and covering up

What is mentioned in the hadeeth of Ya'ala bin Umayyah - Radi Allaahu anhu:

that the Messenger of Allaah - sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam - saw a man bathing at an open place where there was no partitioning and without a wrapping garment, so the Messenger - sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam - climbed the Mimbar, and he praised Allaah and glorified Him and said:

'Indeed Allaah Azza wa Jal is The Shy One, The One who Conceals, He loves modesty and covering up, so if one of you bathes (outside) then he should cover up.'

[Narrated by Abu Dawood and Nisaa'ee – authenticated by Albaani in 'Irwa' no. 2335]
