Not Every Day
Not every day is easy nor do they all go exactly as each of us please,
but I know I can come before You Heavenly Father on my knees.
Not every message or call ends up with me wearing a radiant smile,
but that we'll come out of it stronger brooks no denial!
Not only stronger Heavenly Father but having grown closer to You,
knowing that our best interest is in everything You allow or do.
We may not understand our trials or see how they will come to a close,
but we know for a fact our personal bond with You grows.
Sometimes climbing these mountains seems an insurmountable feat,
but the joy we'll feel at the top no other experience can beat.
Father I want to Thank You for the strength and comfort You provide,
I pray that I constantly in Your loving care abide!
I pray that I remember You are my continual strength and might,
and as long as I trust in You everything will turn out right.
Maybe not as I thought it would or not as I'd like it to be,
but exactly as You know will be best for all eternity.
Thank You Heavenly Father for the mountains I have to climb,
Thank You for Your strength and Your peace of mind!
Thank You for the beauty at the top of the mountain I'll see,
but Thank You most of all for continuing to love me!

WHILE YOU SLEEP
by Anne R. C. Neale
While you are sleeping in your bed
With a pillow under your head,
God watches over you as you sleep
He does this every night of the week
God sooths your soul while you rest,
God knows what to do and what is best,
He keeps you safely in His arms,
He will keep you too from any harm,
God loves you dearly, that is so true,
He is the Creator of me and of you,
You are in God's arms while you sleep,
He is the Great Shepherd and we all are His sheep.
The believer’s work is much more than simply a daily job. Anytime we exercise the talents and gifts God has given us, we are laboring for His kingdom. We might be doing something obviously scriptural, like teaching Sunday school or building houses for needy families. Or we may be using our abilities for a more subtle purpose, such as encouraging a sad friend. Whatever we are doing, God expects our work to be done well and with a joyful heart.
• A believer works with energy. As God’s children, we are gifted so we can serve the Lord by serving others. To neglect our talents or to be undisciplined in our duties is disobedient. Paul warned that those who are idle deserve to be shamed (
2 Thessalonians 3:10-14).
• A believer works with enthusiasm. The Lord is doing exciting things through our hands. Knowing that we’re participating in His kingdom should be a motivation to make ourselves usefulâ€"and to do so heartily.
• A believer works with excellence. The Lord has fitted us with just the right talent to accomplish the work He wants us to do. For this reason, sloppy or half-hearted actions cannot be justified. Though we may at times fail in an endeavor, giving our best effort will always please our Father.
On occasion we all get tired and don’t feel like approaching God’s labor fervently. However, such feelings don’t cancel out our responsibilityâ€"we’re here to serve the Lord. Decide today to carry out His work with enthusiasm, excellence, and energy for as long as He gives you strength.
