Bath Soak For Sore Muscles
Safe, all natural bath soak is easy to make
and relaxes your tired sore muscles.

Take 2 cups of Epsom salts and
2 cups of baking soda, mix together
well and add 5-10 drops of your
favorite essential oil or a combination
of oils. This is optional but luxurious.
I like eucalyptus and lavender oil,
5 drops of each. This makes a nice
muscle soak. Equal drops of rose oil
and bergamot makes another nice soak.
There is no end to the combinations
you can make.

Epsom salts are magnesium sulfate
and relax muscles naturally. Add one
cup of your bath mixture salts to water,
no hotter than 100 degrees F and
soak for 20 minutes, one hour before bed.

If essential oils are outside of your budget,
squeeze or add lemon juice, limes, or
oranges or the zest of these fruits.
Zest is simply the thin scrapings of the rind.
Chop a teaspoon of the zest really fine
and add to your salts. You can add
cinnamon and vanilla extract for an
aromatherapy experience to die for, or
drop a tea bag-green tea or fruit flavor
directly into the bath water
along with the salts.

Filling Nail Holes in Wall
To fill nail holes in your walls where
pictures once hung, mix up a couple
of teaspoons of cornstarch and add
water until it's a putty-like consistency.
It dries relatively quickly
and works like a charm.

Use Cuticle Trimmers To
Clean A Hairbrush
I was having problems removing the
hair that gets tangled in my hairbrush.
I looked around for something small
enough to cut through the tangled
mess and found a extra pair of cuticle
trimmers (the kind you get at the
dollar store nail set ). I just ripped
down the length of the brush and
pulled out the hair. Seam rippers
work great too.

Safe Bathing for Babies
When my babies were able to sit up
on their own (6 months), they
enjoyed sitting in a laundry basket
inside a regular tub. This kept their
bath toys within reach and allowed
them to hold onto the sides to keep
their balance.
I would also use this method to have
them in the shower with me so that
I could actually have a shower while
keeping them in sight. Face them
away from water spray.

Using a Back Scratcher to
Retrieve Dropped Items
I am not able to get down on my
knees to retrieve something I
dropped if it has ended up too
far to just bend over and pick up.
So one day I used my new back
scratcher to bring the item closer
to me. This worked so well that
now I keep a back scratcher by
my desk here all the time and it
has saved me so much aggravation.
Being a crafter I am always dropping
things besides paper, things like
beads, etc. Also there is a part of
my area where it is difficult to
retrieve something, but now I can
get anything that falls there quite easily.

Wash Disks In Soapy Water
When I have a dirty CD or DVD,
I wait until I am going to wash a
load of dishes. Then I hand wash
the DVD or CD with my fingers in
a sink full of new soapy dishwater
that hasn't had any dishes added
to it yet. When all of the
fingerprints or dirt are off, I dry it
on a soft, lint-free towel.

Make a Dog Bed With
Old Fleece Robes
Doggie beds can be made out of
used fleece robes found at thrift
stores. You can usually pick them
up for very little and cut them
apart to make a nice bed for your
little pet. Just cut 2 round pieces
the size you want plus the seam
allowance, stuff with fluffy batting
and you are done.

Recently I discovered that I had given
away or sold all my dishes when I left
Oregon in '09. So, I went shopping at
the local thrift shops. Boy, even sets
can be costly, and I kept finding things
I could afford but didn't like and vise-versa.
That is when it hit me. Why do my dishes
have to match? Why can't I find unique
place settings that give each guest a set
of their own?

So, at the local St. Vincent dePaul Store's
"as is" in the back, where plates are .50
and cups and saucers are .25, I found
these plates, saucers, and mugs and gave
them a new home. I don't have a table
and chairs yet, so the display is a bit funky,
but you get the picture.

The next time you are thinking that
everything should match - well, don't!
Get fun and whimsical and find what you like.
This inspired me to find more back in the
"as is" section to use for planters, clocks,
and to break up for frames and serving trays.
If this inspired just one other person,
then my job is done!
