Why Islam prohibits Music
Question: One of those who recently embraced Islam, is asking why Islam has prohibited music; So what should I say to him?
Response: Islam has prohibited music because it enters [and settles in] the heart, and remains there and distracts it from the remembrance of Allaah.
So [know] that man has been created [only] to worship Allaah 'Azza wa Jall [alone][1], so when his heart becomes attached to music, it prevents it from the remembrance of Allaah 'Azza wa Jall, and because of that, you find those who are passionate about music and singing - walking along [the path] and doing such-and-such with their hands - it is as if they are playing the music[al instrument], and that is because it has preoccupied their minds and hearts.
And Islaam requires of the muslm that his orientation is always [inclined] towards Allaah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala), because there in lies his welfare and his [genuine] happiness
[and pleasure in this world and the Hereafter]. So, [go and] tell him this.

And please note that many of the world's famous pop singers and musicians embraced Islam. Why ? Because many of them said their hearts were not at peace and there was no peace in their lives even with the best of the music and songs. After embracing Islam they said their hearts are now at full peace and life is at full tranquility. SubhanALLAH.
Because Almighty ALLAH says in the Quran "Without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction" Surah Ar-Ra'd (13:28)
Here is the complete ayah 13:28 "Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah. for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction.
Ar-Ra'd (The Thunder)[13:28]
Allatheena amanoo watatmainnu quloobuhum bithikri Allahi ala bithikri Allahi tatmainnu alquloobu
13:28 "Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah. for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction.
Why the Prophet (peace be upon him) sought Allah's forgiveness so much
The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to seek Allah's forgiveness more than most other people. Why is this the case, since he is the best of people and the one whom Allah had forgiven everything? Answered by
the Fatwa Department Research Committee - chaired by Sheikh `Abd al-Wahhâb al-Turayrî
There are numerous verses in the Qur'an extolling the virtues of seeking the forgiveness of Allah. It is an act of virtue, an act of worship in its own right. Indeed, seeking forgiveness for our sins from anyone else is an act of gross polytheism.
Allah says: "And who can forgive sins except Allah?" [Sûrah Al `Imrân: 135]
Allah commands us to seek his forgiveness, saying: "But ask forgiveness of your Lord, and turn unto him (in repentance): for my Lord is indeed full of mercy and loving-kindness" [Sûrah Hûd: 90]
The Prophet (peace be upon him), was the best of all people, the most perfect in his conduct, and the most ardent in performing righteous deeds. Naturally, he the foremost in seeking the forgiveness of his Lord.
He said: "Verily I ask Allah for forgiveness more than seventy times a day." [Sahîh al-Bukhârî (6309)]
He did this in spite of the fact that all of his sins were forgiven.
When Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) occupied himself in prayer, he stood for such a long time that his feet would become swollen. `A'ishah asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Do you do this in spite of the fact that your earlier and later sins have been pardoned for you?"
Thereupon, he replied: "O `A'ishah! Should I not, then, be a grateful servant?" [Sahîh al-Bukhârî (1103) and Sahîh Muslim(2820), but the text is quoted as it appears in Sahîh Muslim]
The fact that our Prophet (peace be upon him) sought Allah's forgiveness so much shows us how important it is for us to do the same. The Prophet (peace be upon him) is indeed our best example.

[Unbelievers with eyes see not; ears hear not]
The QURAN
"They have hearts with which they understand not. And they have eyes with which they perceive not. And they have ears with which they hear not."

The BIBLE
"This is why I speak to them in parables: "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand."

http://al-tanzil.com/In_The_Name_of_ALLAH.html It (al-muawaathatayan) will suffice you for everything
On the authority of Mua'ad bin Abdillaah ibn Khubayb on the authority of his father who said we went out on a very dark and rainy night searching for the Messenger of Allaah so that he could pray for us, then I found him and he -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said : Recite. So I did not say anything, then he said: Recite. So I did not say anything, and he said: Recite, so I said: what should I recite? He said: recite: 'Say that Allaah is the One.' And the last two Soorahs (al-muawaathatayan) in the evening and the morning, three times for it will suffice you for everything.
