| Assalam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu my friends
In my mail sent a couple of days ago (The Choice is Yours) the second hadith at the top had a reference to men who cross dress as women and women who dress as men. The term referred to for this was hermaphrodite.
One of my recipients, Ayub, sent in the following details that serve as a rectification. Jazakallah Ayub for your input, much appreciated.
As-salam-alaikum, The term used in one of your articles, may not be a correct translation of tge hadith, for a hermaphrodite is a genetic condition in which sexual organs of both man and woman is present, either internally or externally, and this is from birth.
The term of cross Dressing, eg a male dressing like a women and vice versa is the one that is cursed.
Please re- correct.
Jazakallah Ayub
Wassalam. Adam.
It is He Who has sent down to you (Muhammad SalAllahu alaihi wasallam) the Book (this Qur'an). In it are Verses that are entirely clear, they are the foundations of the Book [and those are the Verses of Al-Ahkam (commandments), Al-Fara'id (obligatory duties) and Al-Hudud (legal laws for the punishment of thieves, adulterers)]; and others not entirely clear. So as for those in whose hearts there is a deviation (from the truth) they follow that which is not entirely clear thereof, seeking Al-Fitnah (polytheism and trials), and seeking for its hidden meanings, but none knows its hidden meanings save Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: "We believe in it; the whole of it (clear and unclear Verses) are from our Lord." And none receive admonition except men of understanding. (Tafsir At-Tabari). (They say): "Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower." "Our Lord! Verily, it is You Who will gather mankind together on the Day about which there is no doubt. Verily, Allah never breaks His Promise". {Holy Qur'an : Surat Aal-e-Imran, Verses 7,8 & 9}
Narrated Jundub bin Abdullah (Radi Allahu anhu): The Prophet (SalAllahu alaihi wasallam) said, "Recite (and study) the Quran as long as you agree about its interpretation, but when you have any difference of opinion (as regards its interpretation and meaning) then you should stop reciting it (for the time being)." Sahih Al-Bukhari 6:581
Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) as saying: "Do not eat with your left hand, because Satan eats and drinks with his left hand."[Muslim]. | 293/1634 - Riyad Us-Saliheen (Gardens of the Righteous) | Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) said: Abu Quhafah, father of Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with them) was presented to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) on the day of the conquest of Makkah and his head and beard were snow white. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Change it (i.e., dye it and avoid black colour)."[Muslim].
Commentary: Abu Quhafah was the Kunyah (nick-name) of Abu Bakr's father. His real name was Usman bin `Amir. He had embraced Islam on the day Makkah was conquered by the Muslims. "Saghamah" is a herb which grows in mountains and is completely white. Since Abu Quhafah's hair were gray, the Prophet (PBUH) ordered him to dye them but forbade him from turning them black. Thus, we learn that except for inevitable circumstances, dying the hair of head and beard in black is prohibited. | 294/1637 - Riyad Us-Saliheen (Gardens of the Righteous) |

Emulate Prophet's (pbuh) Example:
[MUSLIM, Book #004, Hadith #0984] " 'A'isha reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) recited often these words: Hallowed beAllah and with His praise, I seek the forgiveness of Allah and return to Him. She said: I asked: Messenger of Allah, I see that you often repeat the saying" subhan Allahi bihamdihi astag firullahi watubuilaih" whereupon he said: My Lord informed me that I would soon see a sign in my Ummah, so when I see it I often recite (these) words: Hallowed be Allah and with His Praise, I seek forgiveness of Allah and return to Him. Indeed I saw it (when this verse) was revealed:" When Allah's help and victory came, it marked the victory of Mecca, and you see people entering into Allah's religion in troops, celebrate the praise of Thy Lord and ask His forgiveness. Surely He is ever returning to Mercy." http://al-tanzil.com/Prophet_Explained_Quran_2.html ONE CREATOR - ONE MESSAGE [GOD Wills Sustenance to whom He Wishes] The QURAN ""O Mary, whence came this unto thee?" The BIBLE "And you shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless your bread, and your water;" [Exodus 23:25] Benefits of Always Being in Wudhoo – Shaykh Muhammad al-'Uthaymeen [Q]: What are the benefits that a Muslim will obtain if he constantly makes wuhdoo after everything that breaks it? [A]: Shaykh al-'Uthaymeen [d. 1421 AH], may Allah have mercy on him, answered: The benefits that a Muslim obtains if he constantly makes wuhdoo after everything that breaks it are that he remains in a state of ritual purity, and remaining in a state of ritual purity is a righteous action. Also, he may be a person who constantly remembers Allah in all situations, so when he remembers Allah, he will be in a state of ritual purity. Likewise, he may need to pray, and the place he is in may not have any easily accessible water to make wudhoo with. So, in that situation, he will already be ready for prayer. What's important is that when a person remains in a state of ritual purity, there are many benefits. Ref.: Muhammad al-'Uthaymeen, Fataawaa Noor ala ad-Darb, v.3/pg.76/#1392 "Alhamdulillah, my heart is at ease knowing that what was meant for me will never miss me and that what misses me was never meant or me.
