From the Quran we get a great deal of information. Information that has benefit for us, should we learn to accept it in the right way.
There are learned people who have been blessed with more than just the bare essentials. They are blessed with wisdom that is beyond the understanding of the common man. It is difficult to explain the how and whys of this system where some people are able to see much more than the rest, but the wisdom that they enjoy is available to us in their writings for us to take benefit. One such person is Imam Shams Ad-Din Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah, better known as simply Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim.
The book selection for this week is a stupendous work of his, and the knowledge that one can derive from it is something that cannot be quantified. Investigate it. I am sure you will find in it matter that will be of great benefit to you. As the translator states, when you find life's difficulties facing you, read it and ponder the meaning that is applicable to you. I would rather say that you do not need for difficulties to hit you before you search for appropriate solutions from this book, read and derive its knowledge whenever you do find the time for it. You will find it of great benefit, and it will enable you to have a better perspective on life. The more you read the contents of this very readable work, the stronger will become your belief in the Quran. Words in the Quran which until now have been only words will have new meaning, as we understand the message contained in it better due to the way the author explains the matter.
