Yes dear,
You can update you facebook status by using your email id.
First of all you log in to the facebook then copy & paste the link which is shoing below.
one window will appear "Mobile Setting"
in the last of this setting page you can see the word "Post By Email Address" just copy or remember the address which is showing.
Just type the message in the subject bar in the email for facebook status. You can also share pictures by attaching with that mail.
