Miao Shan was the youngest of three daughters of a king in southern China. The princess angered his father by refusing to marry, choosing a Buddhist nun's spiritual life. The father was furious because it based its plans for future prosperity in the marriage prospects of the girl.
His mother tried to argue in its favor, but his father refused to listen. The marriage had been arranged, the marriage would take place. However, his anger and his pleas failed to Miao Shan yield. So the king decided to confine her in a tower. In the tower, where there was nobody to talk to and only dry rice to eat, Miao Shan deseda could start your life of an ascetic and went to pray.
When he realized that he had been defeated, Miao Shan's father from the wrath, ordered his execution.
Miao Shan led to the forest. The girl walked in silence behind the soldiers. When the soldiers arrived at an open space between the trees, drew their swords, she took a deep breath ... Suddenly, the depth of the forest came a tiger knocked the soldiers, Miao Shan took his mouth and took it. The tiger had been sent by the gods to rescue Miao Shan. The fierce animal and the restacató carried back to the mountains of Amarillo, where he spent the next few years embraced an ascetic life.
His devotion took him to the place where he could have attained the light, leaving behind the miseries of earthly life forever. But just at that threshold, he stopped. Of those who had reached this point, no one had stopped. But Miao Shan reminded all those who still suffer, those who could not find their way to light due to the difficulties of their lives. I made a vow to stay on land until every living outside sacred.
One day she received news that his father was suffering from an incurable disease. With great sacrifice, succeeded in developing a miraculous potion that saved the life of the king.
The gods admired the filial love and mercy of Miao Shan, and made her a goddess. And from that day to come to be known today as Kwan Yin, Goddess of Mercy.
(This is a summary of the different versions I've read about the legend of Miao)
Yang Yu-huan, more familiarly known as Yang Kuei-fei, was one of the four great beauties in Chinese history. It was the favorite concubine of the emperor during the Tang Dynasty.
Due to his obsession with her, forgot his affairs of state, and as a result the barbarians were able to invade China. With the enemy literally at your door, the entire royal family and court, along with the army and the generals, fled to the south until they came to Luoyang.
There was a general demand the death of Yang Yu-huan, who made him responsible for all the ills of the country and its imminent disaster. Despite the ultimatum, the emperor did not dare to kill his beloved. He hung up his maiden in his place, and sent to Yang Yu-huan hidden aboard the Black Ship to Japan, where he lived his life in luxury
Chinese legend and the opera tell the story of white snake goddess.Once She looked down from heaven and saw a mortal man, who won her heart with his strength and beauty. Convinced the other gods, that she should go to land and meet the man in mortal form. The gods allowed her to do so.
She became woman and asked permission to remain on the land as his wife. The gods, feeling that their love was so strong, she was given permission to remain on earth in mortal form. The two married and were very happy and blessed with two beautiful children.
However, their happiness was shattered when her husband became ill. Near death the beautiful young goddess prayed to the gods for a cure. They offered an alternative: If she returned to the heaven and the spirit of the White Snake, her husband would live. White Snake Goddess was heartbroken, but decided to return to heaven so that her husband may live. The husband made a miraculous recovery.
But the pain of the White Snake Goddess by their separation was so strong that it caused terrible storms in the heavens, and tears flooded the land. At this the gods relented and allowed her to return to earth in mortal form.
Caroline Young has captured the stunning beauty of the white snake goddess when it first came to earth in human form, even with the charm of koi fish in the pond.

Once upon a time a rock was sound asleep. It was covered by a blanket of soft sand.

One day a girl found it. And she thought it was lost, and she would help the stone return to its family ... where its real birthplace ... the sea.
... with great effort she brought it to shore ... and threw it with all her might ... with her desire to find its place among the algae, fish and peers.
The sea became curious ... licked the stone which was still asleep (when stones in deep sleep it is no easy taskto wake them up).
The sea recognized it ... waved his arms hugged it ... with her indifferent and firm gently picked it up and took her very cradle ... ceased to be a lost stone.
Our exploratory breathed calmly and deeply.
