Hadith:Ummat-e-Muslimah ka bada Gunaah

(Greater sin of the Muslim)

Anas bin malik Radi Allaho Anhu se rivayat hai ki Rasoollallah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya mujh par meri ummat ke sawab ke kaam pesh kiya gaye yahan tak ki wo kachra (nikalney ka kaam bhi) jisey aadmee masjid se nikalta hai ,aur mere samney meri ummat ke gunaah pesh kiya gaye to mainey us sey bada koi gunaah nahi paya ki kisi ko Quran kareem ki koi surah aur aayat yaad ho gayee aur uskey baad usney usey bhula diya. (Sunan Abu Dawud, Vol1, 459)

Eng.Translation:
Narrated Anas ibn Malik Radi Allaho Anhu : The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: The rewards of my people were presented before me, so much so that even the reward for removing a mote by a person from the mosque was presented to me. The sins of my people were also presented before me. I did not find a sin greater than that of a person forgetting the Qur'anic chapter or verse memorised by him. 
(Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 2, Number 0461)
