حضرت عبداللہ بن خبیب فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم ایک سخت اندھیری اور بارش کی رات میں رسول کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو ڈھونڈھتے ہوئے نکلے (یعنی آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کہیں تشریف لے جا رہے ہم بھی آپ کو ڈھونڈھتے ہوئے نکلے تاکہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ہمراہ جائیں) چنانچہ ہم نے آپ کو پا لیا، آپ نے (اس وقت) فرمایا کہ پڑھو میں نے فرمایا کہ کیا پڑھوں! آپ نے فرمایا صبح اور شام کے وقت تین مرتبہ قل ہوا للہ احد ، قل اعوذ برب الفلق اور قل اعوذ برب الناس پڑھ لیا کرو یہ تمہیں ہر چیز سے کفایت کریں گی (یعنی ہر آفت و بلاء کو دفع کریں گی۔ ترمذی، ابوداؤد ، نسائی
