Go For a Ride Day
And, what a splendid time you will have!
And, what a splendid time you will have!
As the holidays approach, life becomes
chaotic, and perhaps a bit stressful.
Take a breather, and go for a relaxing ride.
You don't need a destination to enjoy
this day. But, you certainly can bring
family or friends along for company.

The means of transportation can be
anything. Sure, a car, bus, or motorcycle
anything. Sure, a car, bus, or motorcycle
ride may immediately come to mind.
Here are some other ways of riding,
that may prove more fun than the family vehicle:
that may prove more fun than the family vehicle:
Take a sleigh ride.
Ride a horse.
Ride a horse-drawn carriage.
Snowmobile rides are always "cool".
A bicycle is a great way to ride with family.
A boat ride, if your are a warmer climate.
Doesn't a plane ride to a sunny vacation
spot sound like fun!?

You can't ride in my little red wagon.

Because gratitude expresses courage,
it spreads calm. Calm of this kind is
quite compatible with deep emotions.
In fact, the mass hysteria rampant all
around betrays confusion rather than
deep feeling â€" superficial agitation
rather than a deep current of compassion.
Join the truly compassionate ones

stillness of your heart's core reach out.
Calmly hold someone's hand

Braid Winter Scarves
I have found that by braiding two
winter scarves together separating
them into three ends hanging down
(it will be uneven but no one will
notice), that it is much warmer. I
secured it with a fancy hair elastic.
Even just a rubber band would do.
I have a bunch of winter scarves
that seem more to be for decoration
than for warmth, since they are so thin.
I got tired of no one using them so
I braided them for myself. I left the
opening big enough to take off over
my head without unbraiding it.
I hang it on the wall and it is all ready
for when I go out.
The first time I wore it I got lots
of compliments.

Then melt it on a stove in a
sturdy pan with 4 cups of hot
water. Stir and melt until
totally dissolved. Then pour
into a 5 gallon bucket and add
one cup of Arm and Hammer
washing soda, one half cup of
borax, and fill the bucket to the
top with very hot water.

The brown sugar will come off,
leaving some of the olive oil behind,
which adds moisture and a lustrous
shine to your lips. Not to mention it's
pretty yummy for you or your next kiss! :)

Using Different Email Addresses
to Your Advantage
I get about fifty (or more) emails a day:
personals from friends and family,
daily newsletters, confirmation emails
and special offers, etc. Since the
emails come in no particular order, I
decided to organize myself concerning
them. I now have three e-mail addresses.

Yes, three! One is only for friends and family,
one is for newsletters and special offers,
and one is for things that I want to keep.
Some documents I don't want to use "Word",
just in case my computer crashes. These
are things like recipes, pictures, jokes, tips,
and so on. Since it's internet based and the
email is always available wherever I have
the use of a computer.

Also, if I'm running short of time, I can check
on my friends without having to muddle
through all the email. I can choose to check
the others later that day or even the next day.
A lot less frustration is involved.

HISTORY

When Columbus first came in contact with
native people, he wrote: "They all go
around as naked as their mothers bore
them; and also the women." He also
noted that "they could easily be
commanded and made to work, to sow
and to do whatever might be needed,
to build towns and be taught to wear
clothes and adopt our ways," and,
"they are the best people in the world
and above all the gentlest."

THE EGO... conclusion
LAY DOWN YOUR WEAPONS
Your challenge will be to become more
aligned internally with the present
moment. Fighting with your ego by will
just makes it stronger.

By declaring war on it, you make an enemy.
A simple example: You wake up in the
morning, and it's raining and gray, and
the mind says, "What a miserable day,"
and this is not a pleasant thought.
You likely feel some emotion: dread,
disappointment, unhappiness.
You suddenly realize that your
judgment of what kind of day it will be
is based on a mental habit, an
unconscious default. That simple
awareness creates space for a new
thought to emerge. You can look again
out the window without that
preconception and just see the sky.
It's gray. There's some sunlight
filtering through the sky. There are,
perhaps, raindrops falling. It's not
actually miserable at all. It has a
certain beauty. Then suddenly, you're free.
