Whosoever desires the life of the world and its glitter, to them We shall pay in full (the wages of) their deeds therein, and they will have no diminution therein.
They are those for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter but Fire, and vain are the deeds they did therein. And of no effect is that which they used to do.
{Holy Qur'an Surat: 11 Hud Verses# 15-16}
And say (O Muhammad SalAllahu alaihi wasallam) "Do deeds! Allah will see your deeds, and (so will) His Messenger and the believers. And you will be brought back to the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen. Then He will inform you of what you used to do."
{Holy Qur'an Surat: 09 At-Taubah Verse# 105}
Verily, Allah has purchased of the believers their lives and their properties for (the price) that theirs shall be the Paradise. They fight in Allah's Cause, so they kill (others) and are killed. It is a promise in truth which is binding on Him in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in the bargain which you have concluded. That is the supreme success.
{Holy Qur'an Surat: 09 At-Taubah Verse# 111}
Abdullah bin Mas'ud (Radi Allahu anhu) reported:
Allah's Messenger (SalAllahu alaihi wasallam) said, "Never Prophet had been sent before me by Allah to his people but he had, among his people, (his) disciples and companions, who followed his ways and obeyed his command. Then there came after them their successors who proclaimed what they did not practice, and practiced what they were not commanded to do. And (he) who strove against them with his hand is a believer; And he who strove against them with his hand is a believer; and he who strove against them with his tongue is a believer; he who strove against them with his heart is a believer; and beyond that there is no grain of faith."
[Muslim]
Irbad bin Sariya (Radi Allahu anhu) reported:
One day Allah's Messenger (SalAllahu alaihi wasallam) delivered us a very eloquent Khutbah on account of which eyes shed tears and hearts were full of tears. A man said:"O Prophet of Allah, this is as if it were a parting advice. So advise us." He (SalAllahu alaihi wasallam) said, "I admonish you to fear Allah, to listen and obey even if an Abyssinian slave is appointed as your leader. Because whoever among you shall live after me, will see much discord. So hold fast to my Sunnah and the example of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs who will come after me. Adhere to them and hold to it fast. Beware of new things (in Deen) because every Bid'ah is a misguidance."
[Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi - Hasan Sahih]
Both Hadith - As Taken from Riyad-us-Saliheen
Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: On the occasion of the `Eid, the Prophet (PBUH) would proceed to the prayer place taking one route and returning from another.[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
Commentary: The `Ulama' say that there are many subtle points of wisdom in changing the way. According to Imam An-Nawawi, this causes an increase in the places of worship. Some say that both ways will bear witness on the Day of Reckoning, that he had passed through them in a state of worship. This may also be the object that instead of one way, the needy on two ways should benefit from alms and charity. |

[002.008] And of mankind, there are some (hypocrites) who say: "We believe in Allâh and the Last Day," while in fact they believe not.
[002.009] They (think to) deceive Allâh and those who believe, while they only deceive themselves, and perceive (it) not!
[002.010] In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allâh has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies.
Virtues of Salaah
Abu Hurayra Radiyallahu 'anhu said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'What do you think would happen if there was a river by someone's door in which he washed five times every day? Do you think that any dirt would remain on him?' They said, 'Not a scrap of dirt would remain on him.' He said, 'That is a metaphor of the five prayers by which Allah wipes out wrong actions.'"
Jäbir ibne-'Abdullah Radiyallahu 'anhuma narrates that Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wasallam said: 'The key to Paradise is Salat and the key to Salat is Wuzu'. (Musnad Ahmad)
Anas Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: 'The comfort and delight of my eyes has been placed in Salat.' (Nasai).
Hanzalah Al Usaidi Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: 'The person who guards the five times Salat, its Wuzu, its prescribed time, its proper Ruku' and Sujüd, while perceiving it to be the Right of Allah on him, he is forbidden upon Fire.' (Musnad Ahmad)
Abu Qatadah ibne-Rib'i Radiyallahu 'anhu reported that Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam narrates in a Hadith Qudsi that Allah 'Azza wa Jall has said:' Verily, I have enjoined upon your Ummah five times Salat, and I have taken upon myself an oath that anyone who observes them at their appointed time, I shall admit him into Paradise; if anyone does not offer them regularly, there is no such guarantee from Me for him (I may punish him or forgive him).'(Abu Dawud)
Abu Hurairah Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: 'The five times Salat and the prayer of Friday to Friday, and the fasting of Ramadan to Ramadan, are atonements for sins that have been committed between them, provided the sinner avoids major sins.' (Muslim).
Abdullah ibne-'Amr Radiyallahu 'anhuma narrates that one day, Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mentioned Salat and said: 'For him who remains mindful of his Salat, it will be a light and an argument in his favour and a means of his salvation on the Day of Judgement; and for him who is not mindful of his Salat, there shall be neither a light, nor an argument in his favour, nor a means for his salvation. And on the Day of Judgement, he will be with Fir'aun, Hamãn and Ubayy ibne-Khalaf.' (Musnad Ahmad)
Note: Fir'aun was the king of Egypt at the time of Musa 'Alaihis salam, Hamãn was his minister, and Ubayy ibne-Khalaf was an ardent idolater and adversary of Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam.
Abu Umamah Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam was asked: O Rasulullah! At what time is Du'a the most readily listened to and accepted? He replied: 'The one made during the course of latter part of the night, and after the obligatory Salat'. (Tirmidhi)
Ruwaibah Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates:' I heard Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam saying: Undoubtedly he will not enter Hell-Fire, who has offered Salat before the rising of the sun, and before its setting; that is Fajr and 'Asr.' (Muslim)
Jundub Al Qasri Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: 'He who offers the Fajr Salat, is indeed in the Protection of Allah (so do not trouble those who are under Allah's Protection); for you will be answerable to Allah for violating this protection; because undoubtedly, if He takes anyone to account for violating this protection, He will catch him and fling him headlong on his face into the Hell-Fire.' (Muslim)
Umme Farwah Radiyallahu 'anhã narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam was asked: 'Which is the best of the good deeds? He said: To offer Salat at the beginning of its prescribed time.' (Abu Dawud).
Jabir ibne-Abdullah Radiyallahu 'anhuma narrates: I heard Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam saying: 'Between man and (his entering into) polytheism and unbelief is the abandonment of Salat.' (Muslim)
Note: Scholars of Islam have offered several explanations to this hadith. One is that a person who abandons Salat becomes increasingly arrogant and bold in committing sins, which may endanger his faith. Another explanation is that the one who abandons Salat runs the risk of an evil end.
Abdullah ibne-'Amr ibnil As narrates from his father, who heard from his grandfather Radiyallahu 'anhuma, who narrated that Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: 'Command your children when they are seven years old, to perform Salat; and beat them for not observing it when they are ten years old. And at this age separate their beds (i.e. do not let brothers and sisters sleep together).' (Abu Dawud)
Note: Beating should not cause bodily harm.
'Uthman ibn 'Affan said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, "There is no Muslim man who attends a prescribed prayer and does wudu' for it well and is humble in it and in its bowing, without that being expiation for the sins before it as long as he did not commit any major sin. This will always apply."
The Reward of a Martyr is within your grasp
Narrated 'abdu ALlaah ibn 'Umar (رَضِيَ الله عَنْهُمَا) that the messenger of Allaah (صَلَّى للَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said:
"He who prays a-Doha, fasts three days every month and does not abandon Witr neither travelling nor at residence, will have the reward of a martyr written for him"
[atTabarii in Muyamma' azZawa'ed (241/2), declared saheeh by sheikh al-Albani (rahimahu Allaah) in sahih a-Ttarghib wa Ttarhib, no. 595]
Note: aDoha starts when the sun raises the length of a spear (approximately 10 to 20 minutes after sunrise) and ends about 15 to 30 minutes before the adhan for duhr, it is prayed in pairs of rakats and can consist of at least two, to as many rakat as you would like beyond that. Who Should Initiate the Salaams, the Caller or the One who Answers the Phone?
By Shaykh Muhammad Naasir Ad-Deen Al-Albaanee
Transmitted by Saalih ibn Taha Aboo Islaam [1]
One day, he (Shaykh Al-Albaanee, may Allaah have mercy upon him) called me and I was not present, so my small daughter answered; saying, when she picked up the receiver of the phone: "As-Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullaah." So the Shaykh asked for me, then said to her: "Inform your father that Muhammad Naasir Ad-Deen Al-Albaanee called." (He didn't say: 'Shaykh.' This is from his humility, may Allaah elevate his level in Paradise.)
So when I returned home my small daughter informed me (saying): "A man called you named Muhammad Naasir Ad-Deen Al-Albaanee." So I called him immediately. After he had sought from me that which he wanted, he said to me: "O Aboo Islaam, when I called you, your small daughter answered saying: 'As-Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullaah.' Is this action based upon knowledge or is it a personal action from a child? We hope to benefit, O Aboo Islaam." This was also from his humility and his wisdom in Da'wah, may Allaah have mercy upon him.
I said to him: "This is the action of a child, and the first time (she has done so). That which we know regarding this matter is that the person is to pick up the receiver of the phone saying: Na'am; and one who is calling him is to give Salaams, and he returns the Salaams to him, not that he (the one who is called) initiates the Salaam." So he, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: "This is that which is correct, as far as we know. This is because the caller is similar to the one who is knocking at the door. There is no difference between them."

Is the Hair Under the Lip which is Called 'Anfaqah from the Beard?
Authors: Imaam 'Uthaymeen (rahimahullah) & 'Allaamah Saalih Al Fawzaan (hafithahullah)
Translator: Abu 'Abdis Salaam Siddiq Al Juyaanee
Al Imaam 'Uthaymeen (rahimahullah) said, "When we return to the speech (found in the) Arabic Dictionary, it says verily the beard (is defined) unrestricted as the hair of the face and cheeks. (The definition) said, the hair of the face, this necessitates that the Anfaqah which is the hair between the lip and the beard[1] (is actually) from the beard."
Al 'Allaamah Saalih Al Fawzaan (hafithahullah) was asked: Q: What is the ruling on shaving the 'Anfaqah?
A: It is not permissible, the 'Anfaqah is from the beard. It is that which grows under the bottom lip. This area is from the beard because that which grows there, (grows) in the area that is (considered) the beard, and is (thus) from the beard; so it is not permissible to shave it.
Q: May Allah treat you in the best of ways, O noble patriarch, what is ruling of trimming / taking away from the Anfaqah or surrounding hairs?
A: This is part of the beard so it is not permissible. Trimming / taking away from the Anfaqah of the beard (is not permissible); it is not permissible to take from it. Rather, it is the mustache that is trimmed.
FOOTNOTE: [1] The Lajnah defined it with the wording: Al-Anfaqah is the hair of a beard under the bottom lip above the hair on the chin.

then prove it by being there for them when they need you the most,
not when it's convenient for you.
