Praise be to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, who made sorrow depart from us and have blessed us
with His Religion.Certainly our Lord is forgiving and bountiful.Peace and blessings be upon the Messenger (SallAllaahu 'Alayihi Wa Sallam), his household and his companions.
I ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to make us one among His Obedient slaves, who hasten to do the good and forbid the evil no matter how small,Ameen Ya Rabbal 'Alameen...!!
Now, that we are acquainted with the importance of Wudu let us move a step forward towards the importance of performing Wudu perfectly.
Purity (Tahârah) is a beautiful word that is pleasing to the ears, and it is a quality which everyone strives to maintain. From an Islamic perspective, purity is a word which is general in its meaning. It may mean physical cleanness, which is purity (of the body) from impure substances or states of impurity, or it may mean spiritual purity, which is the purity of one's self from vices, faults, sins, and replacing them with good deeds, whether in speech or deeds.
This comprehensive meaning of purity is indicated in the words of Prophet Muhammad, (S.A.W.) as reported by Abu Hurairah, (R.A.):
"What do you think? If there was a river at the door of one of you in which he bathes five times a day, would there be any filth left on him?" They answered, "There would be no filth left." The Prophet (S.A.W.) said, "That is like the five Prayers, through them Allâh wipes away sins." (al-Bukhâri)
Also, the Prayer (Salât) is not accepted except if one is in a state of purity. This state if purity is achieved either through performing ablution (wudu´), as in the case of minor impurity, or a bath (ghusl), as in the case of major impurity. The Prophet (S.A.W.) said:
"No Prayer is accepted without purification, and no charity is accepted from earnings made from impermissible sources." (Muslim)
If a Muslim purifies himself in accordance with Allâh's commandments and the Prophet's instructions, his Prayer will be a means for him to purify himself of sins.
We have become so adaptable to today's age of machines that even our acts of worship have reduced to mere mechanical actions without giving any thought to its importance, its virtues, its blessings, and the reward it carries for us.
We just go to the wash basin, open the tap and start the mechanical actions of wudu all the while when our brain and heart is occupied with other stuff.
Although, no major harm in it but this occupancy with the world even when we hardly take out 5-10 mins for Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala leads us to negligence in our wudu. Many a times we don't remember that how many times we have washed our face? Or did I just forget to rinse my mouth? Have I really washed my feet thoroughly? Did I say Bismillah in the beginning?
IMPORTANCE AND BEAUTY OF PERFORMING WUDU PERFECTLY:
1- Narrated Muhammad Ibn Ziyad:
I heard Abu Huraira saying as he passed by us while the people were performing ablution from a utensil containing water,
"Perform ablution perfectly and thoroughly for Abul-Qasim (the Prophet sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam) said, 'Save your heels from the Hell-fire.' "
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 4, Number 166:
How many parts don't we miss due to our negligence? And see where negligence can take us? Hell-Fire…
2-Allah's Messenger SallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam said:
If a Muslim performs ablution and does it well and offers prayer, all his (sins) during the period from one prayer to another would be pardoned by Allah.
(Sahih Muslim, Book #002, Hadith #0438)
All the gossiping, backbiting, lying, watching indecency, tale carrying, arrogant talk and walk, shamelessness, cribbing, complaining etc….A Chance to get the left record clean.SubhanAllah..!!
3- Abu Huraira RadiAllahu Anhu reported: The Messenger of Allah SallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam came to the graveyard and said: Peace be upon you! The abode of the believing people and we, if God so wills, are about to join you. I love to see my brothers. They (the hearers) said: Aren't we your brothers-Messenger of Allah He said: You are my companions, and our brothers are those who have, so far, not come into the world. They said: Messenger of Allah, how would you recognize those persons of your Ummah who have not yet been born? He said: Supposing a man had horses with white blazes on fore- heads and legs among horses which were all black, tell me, would he not recognize his own horses? They said: Certainly, Messenger of Allah.
He said: They would come with white faces and arms and legs owing to ablution, and I would arrive at the Cistern(Kawthar) before them. Some people would be driven away from my Cistern as the stray camel is driven away. I would call out. Come. come. Then it would be said (to me): These people changed themselves after you, and I would say: Be off, be off.
(Sahih Musim, Book#002, Hadith #0482)
Beautiful..! The ablution that we don't pay much heed to ..will actually be a sign by which our beloved Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam will recognize us at the well of abundance ( Kawthar). InshaAllahu ta'ala..
4- Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam said, "..... if one performs ablution and does it perfectly, and then proceeds to the mosque with the sole intention of praying, then for each step which he takes towards the mosque, Allah upgrades him a degree in reward and (forgives) crosses out one sin till he enters the mosque………………"
(Sahih Bukhari, Book #8, Hadith #466)
5- "If anyone performs ablution for them well, offers them at their (right) time, and observes perfectly their bowing and submissiveness in them, it is the guarantee of Allah that He will pardon him; if anyone does not do so, there is no guarantee for him on the part of Allah; He may pardon him if He wills, and punish him if He wills."
(Sunan Abu Dawood, Book #2, Hadith #0425)
6- The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "The prayer of anyone is not perfect unless he performs ablution perfectly;……………."
(Sunan Abu Dawood, Book #3, Hadith #0856)
One of the reason we lose out on Khushu in Salah,(which by the way is a major prerequisite for obtaining nearness to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala), is not performing ablutions perfectly.
We Ask Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala to make it easy for us to understand His Deen and implement even the very tiniest of things which can make us dearer to Him,Ameen Ya Rabbal 'Alameen..!!
