Praise be to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, who made sorrow depart from us and have blessed us with His Religion.Certainly our Lord is forgiving and bountiful.Peace and blessings be upon the Messenger (SallAllaahu 'Alayihi Wa Sallam), his household and his companions.
I ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to make us among one among His Obedient slaves, who hasten to do the good and forbid the evil no matter how small,Ameen Ya Rabbal 'Alameen...!!
When worshipping Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala,A Muslim must worship Him in the manner that He has prescribed. The basic principle regarding acts of worship is tawqeef (i.e., acts of worship are to be based solely on Qur'an and Saheeh Sunnah with no room for personal opinion). No kind of act of worship is prescribed except with daleel (evidence from sharee'ah). Whoever comes up with something that was not prescribed by Allah or His Messenger has introduced an innovation into the religion of Allah, and this action of his is to be rejected, because in order for a deed to be acceptable (to Allah), it must meet two conditions:
1- It must be sincerely for the sake of Allah alone. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Allah, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him)"[al-Bayyinah 98:5]
2- It should be according to the way of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the message he brought. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it)"[al-Hashr 59:7]
Islam is a religion of both outward and inward purity. Allâh's Messenger SallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam severely warned those who neglect physical purity which is a prerequisite for the validity of certain acts of worship.Everything that Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala prescribes has its own wisdom.
All of us perform Ablution for prayer regularly but with time many innovated ways have been adopted into this practice too. Also, we perform ablution without knowing about its virtues and the great rewards it can bring us in this world and the hereafter.
SubhanAllah...!! People complain of Islam being a tough or an extremist religion but where do we find that even washing your faces and hands and feet can bring us immense rewards??
WHY IS ABLUTION REQUIRED BEFORE CERTAIN ACTS OF WORSHIP?
Firstly, Allah is PURE and loves purity.
When we go for that most awaited interview, when we go to college, when we go to school, when we go to job etc….Do we just get up and reach there?? NO!!!
We Prepare for it. Dress ourselves, clean ourselves and make ourselves presentable…
THEN WHY DO WE THINK OF JUST HANDING OVER THE SALAAH TO ALLAH-SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA (THE KING OF THE KINGS, THE COMPLETE OWNER ) WITHOUT ANY PRESENTATION... ??
Secondly, In Islam our do's and dont's have already been established and according to the Hadith by Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam:
" Prayer without ablution is invalid" (Sahih Muslim, Book #002, Hadith#0435).
WHY DO WE NEED TO DO WUDHOO (WUZU IN URDU) IN THE FIRST PLACE ?
- Allah ORDERS -> O you who believe! When you intend to offer As-Salât (the prayer), wash your faces and your hands (forearms) up to the elbows, rub (by passing wet hands over) your heads, and (wash) your feet up to ankles. If you are in a state of Janâba , purify yourself (bathe your whole body). But if you are ill or on a journey or any of you comes from answering the call of nature, or you have been in contact with women and you find no water, then perform Tayammum with clean earth and rub therewith your faces and hands. Allâh does not want to place you in difficulty, but He wants to purify you, and to complete His Favour on you that you may be thankful. (Al-Mâ'idah 5:6)
Also - Ibn 'Umar (radhiAllaahu 'anhumaa) said: Indeed I heard Rasoolullah (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) say: Allaah does not accept Prayer without purification (Wudho or when required then - Ghusl), nor Sadaqah from illegally attained wealth. [Muslim (1/160) and others]
VIRTUES OF PERFORMING ABLUTION:
1. Purification is equal to half of the faith:
The Prophet of Allâh SallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam: said in this regard:
"Cleanliness is equal to half the faith…" (Sahih Muslim, Book #002, Hadith #0432).
2. Purification is one of the ways one can please Allâh Subhanahu wa ta'ala and earn His love
Allâh Subhanahu wa ta'ala said:
"Indeed Allâh loves those who continually seek repentance and those who purify themselves." [Surah al-Baqarah (2):222]
3. To preserve and guard purification, [by always striving to be in a state of purity by performing ablution,] is one of the qualities of believers, for it is a type of worship seen only by Allâh.
The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam said:
"Always be upright, though you will not be able to perfectly, and know that the Prayer is the best of your deeds. Only a believer guards and preserves his wudoo´ (ablution)." (Ibn Maajah)
4. Maintaining purification is an act that leads to acceptance of supplication.
'Amr bin 'Abasah RadiAllahu 'anhu narrated that the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam said,
'No Muslim who sleeps in a state of purification (having performed ablution) and then after awakening during night, mentions Allâh and asks Him anything of the good of this life and the Hereafter, except that Allâh gives him what he asked for." (Ahmad)
5. Purification elevates one's rank and status.
Abu Hurairah RadiAllahu 'anhu narrated that the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam said to Bilâl at the time of the Fajr (Dawn) Prayer:
"O Bilâl, Tell me the most promising deed you have done in Islâm, for I heard the sound of your footsteps in Paradise." Bilâl answered: "I haven't done an act more hopeful to me than this: I have never performed ablution during the day or night except that [after it] I performed what I could of voluntary Prayers." (Sahih-Bukhâri)
To Be Continued InshaAllahu Ta'ala...
