The Final Decision Every day when we awaken is not necessarily a delight, some tests and trials may cause us a fright. Some incidences that we incur or we may have to face, may have us wishing we could be in another place. Some of the pains or heartaches we may have to endure, could cause us to wonder if we should have done more. But there is one who knows us from the first to the last, every right or wrong we’ve done in our past. One who knew ever since the beginning of time, every mistake ever made both yours and mine. One who loved us despite what we’d one day do, one who offered forgiveness and life anew. One who out of that love sacrificed what was needed, so eternal life would belong to all who heeded. Eternal life that could never be earned or bought, only accepted as the Word has taught. Taught to those who sincerely sought to understand, the precious loving gift of the Salvation Plan. Have you yourself asked God to help you to see, just what He’s offering so lovingly? Have you sought discernment so you’ fully comprehend, so you could make your choice before your life’s end? There are only two places where our Eternity can be spent, one is living with Jesus the other is in eternal torment. Only one person has the right or ability to make that choice, each of us must do so with our own voice. No matter how much you’re loved by those you’re Blessed to know, you and you alone determines where for eternity you’ll go. No one is promised tomorrow no one knows when their life will end, making your a decision today may be on what your eternity depends. Won’t you open your Bible won’t you ask God to show you today, to help you to understand and to show you the way! I’m praying for your soul; I’m asking God to show you what to do, but the acceptance of your salvation is completely up to You! December 8, 2011 Barbara Philbrook Thanks Mags A W A K E N Arise from your slumber. It is time to awaken... Let's be among the number Not torn, worn or forsaken. A warning is given this day In hopes of readying the soul His Coming is not too far away; The Lord, God, is our goal. Make haste! Do not waste a second! It is a Season of fasting and prayer. Heed the call for the Lord has beckoned. He admonishes us with unending care. Be like the virgins with oil in our lamps. Do not be caught off guard Or wallowing in enemy camps. Nor be with spirits marred. 'Tis a blessing this time of growth Preparing the way of the Lord. Holy Spirit inspire minds 'n hearts both! Let's Praise God in one accord. Time to arise, "Come follow Me. I have come that you might live, If you would understand and truly see All of the Blessings I desire to give." "Come with Me; take my Hand; Listen to the sound of My Voice. Walk with Me to Heaven's Land; Where all souls in My Kingdom rejoice." © Mel Patterson 2-27-06 Thanks Linda Read | Isaiah 53 Yesterday, as we explored some biblical history leading up to the time of Jesus, we saw that the Jews were expecting a Savior. Yet Jesus didn’t match the Messiah they anticipated. The people imagined a strong ruler who would lead their nation with worldly power, but the Lord was a servant who spent time with outcasts. They hoped for a man who would end Israel’s persecution; He died a criminal’s death and warned His followers that they would not be accepted by the world. It is, then, no surprise that the Jewish people rejected Him. He did not fit what they wantedâ€"yet He was so much more than they understood. For all of us will one day stand before God, and in our iniquity, we would be unworthy to remain in His presence. His judgment of sin will be death, an agonizing eternal existence apart from Him. This is what He warned Adam in Genesis 2:17â€"that if he sinned, he would die. Yet Jesus bore our sin so that whoever trusts in Him can look forward to eternal life instead (John 3:16). Christ chose to bear our punishmentâ€"the Holy One voluntarily dying the death of a criminal so we could live forever in His presence. Jesus was “the wayâ€ (14:6) that God could satisfy His justice yet love His people. Jesus’ gift of salvation is free. It requires nothing on our part except acceptance and surrender. Have you accepted His death on the cross as the atonement for your sin? The Redeemer’s death leads to life, and though He doesn’t guarantee an easy road, He promises to stay with you always.
